Shirley Tornados 🌪️ vs Windsor Red

Updated: Oct 16, 2022

Match day 4

With the game underway we looked set to have another great game.

The tornados got off to a rocky start with the continuous long balls from Windsor goalkeeper 🚀 ⚽️with an over the top long ball Windsor managed to squeeze through our defence and slot the ball home for 1-0.

With Windsor continuing to play the long ball the tornados 🌪️ adjusted their style of play with the defence stopping the long ball getting through pretty much every time allowing us to gain possession and control of the game.💪🏻

With control and possession in the hands of the tornados we started to build on our strengths and abilities and this allowed us to break through the midfield and a ball played out wide to Zachary to burst down the wing and cut inside to square it across the box to and eagerly awaited John to slot the ball home 1-1

With possession and control and now a goal the tornados 🌪️ continued to bring the ball forward to attack the Windsor goal

Next stepped up our new signing Alessandro   picking up a loose ball and making a darting run through Windsor defence and placing a lovely goal on his debut 👏🏻1-2

The tornados 🌪️ made a few tactical changes to allow some new energy on the pitch with the tornados getting a corner with Zachary whipping in a lovely cross to give Tommy c a lovely header into the back of the net after only being on the pitch for a matter of minutes! 1-3

HALFTIME 🕰️

TEAMTALK: With the highs and emotions in the first half the boys really struggled to relax and listen to coaches 🤔

2ND HALF

With the tornados still in the swing of things Noah managed to make a run through midfield to square the ball across the box to Zachary for a well deserved goal after contributing to setting up two in the first half 1-4.

Windsor continued to try and break through our line of defence with no effect with the boys at the back being solid and the backbone of the team today 💪🏻 but with Windsor continuous long balls from there goalkeeper caught the tornados out again with everyone so far upfield Windsor got a lucky breakthrough and managed to get there self back into the game with another goal 2-4!

With the tornados conceding a goal this just seemed to make them go up a gear and respond straight away with John providing the assist for Noah to put the ball in the net and the tornados back in control 2-5!

The tornados continue the pressure and John managed to pick up a loose ball to drive into the back and execute a nice low and hard shot into the bottom corner 2-6

with the game coming towards the end of the match and the defence putting in a solid performance to allow the midfield and strikers play with a bit of freedom we managed to grab ourselves another goal with Zachary slotting home a loose ball in the box into the bottom corner 2-7

Full time 2-7 💪🏻
