Vs Totton & Eling Black U11

An exciting and evenly matched game on a hot afternoon saw opportunities for both sides and a thrilling final few minutes.

🌪Tornados began looking dominant and just missed that little bit of luck in the box. 🥅We went unexpectedly behind to a contentious goal but didn’t let our heads drop as we pressed for an 💪🏻equalizer, with only the frame of the goal 🥅 denying us on more than one occasion. We finally brought it level near the end of the half with Dylan calmly finding space and slotting ⚽️ home following a good throw from John.

We continued to press, with our number 9 again stinging the palms of their 🧤 goalkeeper, who was kept busy all game. Some loss of concentration almost cost us as they struck our crossbar and threatened to overwhelm us on the break, which they finally did to retake the lead after beating our offside trap.

Despite being down a goal we looked the 💪🏻stronger team and continued to push with growing confidence thanks to a commanding display from our 🧤keeper as he 🗣 marshalled his area.

Switching positions gave the team some extra energy and we made good use of our wingers as we created chances aplenty, with the deserved equalizer finally coming after a corner from Zach found Thomas with a

🔥goal of the season🔥contender as he placed a dipping ⚽️ ball in the top corner beyond the reach of any 🧤goalkeeper.

With the game level and feeling like it was ours for the taking we continued to press and had several chances with Zach, Rayan, Dylan and Cameron all coming close before we found ourselves exposed to a counterattack which they finished well. We continued in the same spirit, dominating possession but when the final whistle blew we hadn't quite converted that dominance into the win our performance deserved.

Despite the loss, the coaches came away feeling like we’d won; the attitude of the team and the countless individual performances bringing smiles to faces and giving confidence for the rest of the season. Every member of the team played their socks off, making the MOTM decision a tough one; but it finally went to our two stalwarts in central defence: Cameron and Harrison, whose communication, teamwork and calm heads gave the team the platform from which to attack and control possession throughout the match.

We gather as teammates; we leave as family.
